18th International Automobile Fair: Trade Ministry to prevent marketing vehicles of "Death"

Trade Ministry decided to apply the law on identifying the quality standards and the quality of vehicles that are marketed in Algeria, before the beginning of the International Automobile Fair, which will be held in the period between 12 and 22 March, as it asked the dealers for the need to respect the standards of safety in all cars that will be exhibited in the fair, and prevented the marketing of vehicles that do not contain airbags and ABS anti-braking system.

This action is aims at providing a minimum of safety and security that must be available in cars that are marketed and manufactured in Algeria, especially in light of the rising traffic accidents and accusing many importers to market cars do not have the lowest standards of safety, and which were banned by many of the European and Arab countries.

Algerian Association of agents accredited to market cars, expressed satisfaction of these procedures, in order to regulate the vehicles market in Algeria, which is witnessing an unprecedented chaos; "Algeria becomes a dustbin of cars, especially in light of the proliferation of a large number of importers and non-official agents, who sank the national market with vehicles that do not respect the lowest safety conditions.

With regard to the new procedures, which will mark the 18th International Automobile Fair, authorized dealers to respect the delivery deadlines that must not exceed 45 days as required by law, as services of the Trade Ministry received black reports on customers and the Algerian Association for consumers , about the delivery deadlines by some agents which exceeded one year, and this is what is considered a serious encroachment on the right of customers who have been deprived of even the restoration of the first part paid,as the new procedure required the agents not to accept orders for cars that are not in stores delivery, or those that the deadlines of delivery exceed 45 days.

For the first time, utilitarian vehicles like "trucks, buses, tractors and commercial vehicles will not participate in the fair, because the Ministry committed agents to bring only touristic cars, due to the high number of participants who will exceed this year 70 accredited agents, representing the five continents, in addition to organizing a fair for the utilitarian vehicles in June 2014.
